Kseniya Kawko
Sound Engineer
Kseniya is a producer and recording engineer specialized in classical music and jazz. She holds a Master of Music degree from Sound Recording McGill University in Montréal (Canada) and Tonmeister Master degree from the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany. Kseniya is a part of the msm-studios team, the Kyberg Studio team and the Head Sound Engineer at Munich's world famous Jazzclub Unterfahrt. Her references include ensembles like Vienna Philharmonic, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Sirius Quartet and Quadro Nuevo. Kseniya also worked with musicians such as Chris Potter, Gerald Clayton, Donny McCaslin, Fred Hersch, David Murray, Steve Turre and Jorge Rossy. Kseniya is regularly invited to international conferences as a presenter and a member of the jury for student recording competitions. From 2017 immersive audio is an important part of Kseniya’s professional activity. Her experience includes mixing in such formats as Auro-3D, Ambisonics, Dolby Atmos and Binaural.
Sound Recording Course
During the festival Kseniya offers a practical course for sound engineers, focusing on acoustic music production. The students will be able to take part in concert recordings, learn about the microphones placement techniques and the basics of the mixing process. Some part of the course will be dedicated to an introduction to immersive audio recording, including theoretical and practical parts.
