Arrival & Departure
Participants should plan to arrive July 8 (July 7 departure from outside EU). Last event is 20 July; check-out is 21 July. Participants should compare costs of arriving in various regional airports; recommended are Milan (Malpensa or Linate) and Bologna. Complete travel instructions will be sent in May to all attending participants.
Due to the intensity of the festival schedule, there will only be one scheduled day off, constituting an afternoon-evening-morning spread over two days. During this 24 hour period, participants would be able to explore the environs of Cesena, including the Dalmation Coast (30′ drive), and the population centers of Rimini, Ravenna, San Marino (30′-40′ drive) and other small hill towns. For those that would like to visit other locales (such as Florence, Venice, Rome, Milan, etc.), we recommend you plan this outside of the festival dates. Festival accommodation is only provided for the festival period, comprising 13 nights from July 8 and including the final evening of July 20.
Honing Your Craft
Practice facilities with pianos are available throughout the day and into early evening hours. Composers are encouraged to bring A laptop with music editing software. Each participant will receive two private lessons and/or master classes during the festival.
The majority of participants are currently enrolled in a music degree program, through the PhD level. Recent PhD and DMA graduates are also welcome. Typical age range is from 20 to 35, however participation is not limited to this age group.
